According to Sky Sports, Aston Villa are closing in on the signing of highly-rated young Barcelona winger Adama Traore.
Reports suggest that the 19-year-old could put pen to paper later today and sign a three-year deal with the Villans.
Traore has only made one start and three substitute appearances for the Catalan giants. However he spent last season with Barcelona B in the Segunda, as they were relegated to the third tier of Spanish football.
It seems Traore did not like the prospect of plying his trade in the Spanish third tier and is looking to move on for first team football elsewhere.
It is believed that Traore turned down the chance to sign for Liverpool in favour of more regular first team football with Villa.
Traore is a highly-rated prospect and has previously represented Spain at under-19 level. Regarded as an exciting winger Traore should have fans on the edge of their seats at Villa Park this season.
Aston Villa boss Tim Sherwood has been one of the busiest Premier League bosses in the transfer market this summer.
The former-Spurs boss has given his squad a massive overhaul this summer, as he aims to avoid a similar season of struggle to last season.
Traore may not sign in time to make his debut in Friday night’s home game with Manchester United, but could have a big part to play for Villa in the future.
Will Adama Traore fulfil his potential in the Premier League?
