According to the Daily Telegraph, Chelsea are lining up Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola to replace under-pressure Jose Mourinho at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues slumped to their fifth Premier League defeat of the season on Saturday, as West Ham defeated the Blues 2-1 at the Boleyn Ground. To make matters worse for the Blues midfielder Nemanja Matic was also dismissed.

It is now being reported that Chelsea are discussing with intermediaries the possibility of hiring Guardiola, if Mourinho is fired by Blues owner Roman Abramovich.

Abramovich is believed to be becoming increasingly unhappy with the team’s performances and could be ready to dispense with the services of Mourinho as Blues boss.

Guardiola has been discussed as a possible Chelsea boss in the past, but moved to Bayern Munich before Chelsea had a chance to convince the Spaniard to try his luck in the Premier League.

The former-Barcelona bosses’ contract in Germany expires next summer and speculation about his future has been rife. He has expressed a desire to manage in England in the past and has even stated his admiration for London.

The likes of former-Blues bosses Guus Hiddink and Carlo Ancelotti have been linked with taking the managers role on a temporary basis until the summer, at which time Guardiola would be available.
