Liverpool’s highly-rated German boss Jurgen Klopp will be looking for his first win as Reds boss, as the side from Merseyside host Southampton at Anfield on Sunday.
Klopp has started his reign as Liverpool boss with draws against Tottenham and Rubin Kazan in the Europa League on Thursday night.
There are already signs of the style of the Reds team changing to a more familiar style to that of Klopp’s former club Dortmund.
The former-Mainz boss has already been handed an injury headache by losing Joe Gomez and Danny Ings to long-term problems.
England striker Daniel Sturridge’s struggles with injuries continue, as he will miss out on the game against the Saints.
However, the likes of Roberto Firmino and Christian Benteke both returned to the squad to face Rubin Kazan on Thursday night.
Southampton will be looking to record a consecutive Premier League away win after claiming a 3-1 win at reigning champions Chelsea in their last away game. That win at Chelsea was the Saints first league win on their travels.
This clash is a difficult first Premier League home game for Klopp and the Saints present a very potent threat. However the new Reds boss will be hoping to secure maximum points for the first time as Liverpool manager.
