According to Sky Sports, Leicester City are believed to have agreed a fee of are around £3million with Napoli for Swiss central midfielder Gokhan Inler.
The 31-year-old has been linked with a move to the King Power Stadium for the last few weeks.
The Foxes are still looking to replace experienced Argentinian international midfielder Esteban Cambiasso, who left the club this summer and has joined Greek giants Olympiakos.
Inler is a highly-experienced central midfielder, having played in Serie A for the last eight years with Udinese and Napoli. He also captained Switzerland at last year’s World Cup.
The Foxes boss Claudio Ranieri has refused to comment on whether the club have agreed a deal for the midfielder, but the Italian did confirm that the Midlands club were looking to complete a deal for the experienced star.
Leicester started their campaign off in good style winning 4-2 at home against Sunderland last Saturday. Ranieri’s men face a tricky visit to London to face West Ham.
The Foxes were three goals up within the first 25 minutes with Algerian winger Riyad Mahrez scoring a brace, with one of those goals coming from the penalty spot. The trip to the Boleyn Ground could be a far more difficult challenge.
The Foxes will be buoyed by that opening day win and the fact that they have won ten out of their last ten Premier League games. An away win is not out of the question.
