David Moyes was sacked as Spanish outfit Real Sociedad sacked him last night after slightly over a year in charge in San Sebastian.
For me it was always a strange move for the Scot to head for Spain, even his complexion did not suit the move.
David Moyes move to the Basque country was always going to be a gamble for everybody involved. The Scot deserves credit for going completely out of his comfort zone and moving abroad. Not many British bosses have the chance or bravery to take such an adventurous move.
Maybe the reason is that the British bosses have a certain mentality that does not seem to translate to foreign climes. For me Moyes is a typical British boss.
The Scot’s year in charge at the Anoeta was a mixed one. The former-Manchester boss rescued the club from relegation last season. However, this season his team have claimed just two victories in La Liga, which both came away from home.
Moyes was highly-rated during his 11 years at Everton, but that was prior to his failure at Manchester United. The big questions is will Moyes gamble to move to Spain going to spot him gaining another big job in the Premier League.
Where will David Moyes end up next?
