It seems a transfer battle between Premier League giants Chelsea and Manchester United could be in the offing.
Both clubs are reported to be chasing the signature of Barcelona’s vastly underrated forward Pedro Rodriguez.
The Catalan giants are believed to be willing to allow the forward to leave for a fee of around £20million, despite him only signing a contract extension a few months ago.
Pedro has been an unsung hero for the Catalan giants in recent years, but had to take a backseat to the fantastic South American trio of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar last season. The three are immovable objects from the Barcelona attack.
Pedro still managed to score 14 goals for Barcelona last season and always appears to notch vital goals. However, it now looks like his patience at waiting for a regular first team spot in Catalonia may have broken.
A move to the Premier League could give the forward a fresh start and hopefully more regular appearances. Signing the 27-year-old will be a coup for whoever gets him this summer.
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho and United boss Louis van Gaal will now go head-to-head in an attempt to persuade the forward that his future lays at their club.
His destination seems uncertain at the moment, but it does now look like the Spanish international will now be plying his trade in England in the new season.
Hopefully the move will earn him the recognition he so richly deserves, because for too long he has been underrated by media and fans alike.
Who will sign Pedro this summer?
