Quique Flores looks set to be named as the next Watford boss

According to Sky Sports, former-Atletico Madrid boss Quique Sanchez Flores is set to be handed a two-year deal at Watford.

Leaving

Current Watford boss Slavisa Jokanovic guided the Hornets to promotion to the Premier League after only being appointed in October.

However, his contract expires at the end of this month and talks between the pair are believed to have broken down over the Serbian’s wage demands.

Jokanovic was the Hornets fourth boss of the season and it seemed like he had finally brought stability to the club. Unfortunately it seems his wage demands were just too much for the club.

Arriving

Spanish boss Quique Flores is much travelled, but his biggest achievement remains winning the Europa League in 2010 with Atletico Madrid, when the Spaniards defeated Premier League Fulham in the final.

The 50-year-old has also managed in Portugal with Benfica and the Middle East with the likes of Al Ahli and Al Ain.

Difficult

They seem to go through more bosses than toilet rolls at Vicarage Road. If as expected Flores is made head coach of the club he will be their fifth boss in ten months, which is quite incredible.

Flores could face a difficult task keeping the Hornets in the top-flight. They will be one of the favourites for the drop next season and Flores’ lack of Premier League experience may work against them.

If last season was anything to go by the Spaniard may not even see out the end of the campaign in Hertfordshire. Good Luck Quique!

Is Quique Flores the right man to lead Watford in the Premier League?
