According to the Independent, Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard could be set for a sensational return to Anfield after talks with Jurgen Klopp.
Gerrard has reportedly spoken to Klopp a number of times since the German’s arrival at Anfield.
The former-Dortmund boss is believed to be interested in bringing the midfielder back to the club to improve professionalism in the dressing room and on the training ground.
A deal is only a possibility, but Gerrard’s domestic campaign has finished with LA Galaxy in the MLS, after they were knocked out of the play-offs.
Klopp has looked into the possibility of bringing Gerrard back to train with the club until 15th January, when he needs to return to LA for the Galaxy’s pre-season.
However there has also been talk of Gerrard returning on a loan, or even permanent deal, but his American parent club would most likely demand a fee.
Gerrard is due to arrive back in England on Wednesday, as he is set to attend Liverpool’s game against Crystal Palace on Sunday. Gerrard is known to have enjoyed his time in the USA, but has missed home and the playing standard of the English top-flight.
Will Steven Gerrard return to Liverpool in the near future?
