Tottenham host Manchester City at White Hart Lane in Saturday’s early Premier League kick-off in what promises to be an entertaining encounter.
The home side have hit a spot of form late, with consecutive victories and have also kept three consecutive clean sheets in the top-flight. Spurs have struggled to score goals this season though and both their 1-0 wins.
Last season’s highest scorer in the Premier League, Harry Kane, has failed to score this season for the north London side. That lack of form could be concerning considering that Spurs face a City side who have kept clean sheets in five out of their six Premier League games so far this season.
However, last time out the Citizens suffered a 2-1 defeat at the Etihad Stadium against West Ham. The league leaders followed that defeat up with a 4-1 hammering of Sunderland though in the Capital One Cup on Wednesday night.
Spurs have an injury crisis in midfield, with Ryan Mason, Mousa Dembele, Alex Pritchard and Nabil Bentaleb all set to miss out.
City are set to welcome back captain Vincent Kompany into the team. Centre-back Eliaquim Mangala, full-back Gael Clichy and midfielders David Silva and Fabian Delph all miss out through injury.
This game should be an entertaining encounter despite the two team’s relative solid defensive records. Spurs look like they are finding their form, but goals remain a concern. City should get back to winning ways in the Premier League in this one.
