When in January Inter Milan announced the signing of Xherdan Shaqiri, very few people were expecting the Swiss International to leave the Milan based side after only six months.
Six months down the line and it seems that Shaqiri is heading away from Milan. Inter Milan have offered the player to various clubs as they’re eager to sell him to fund other signings. That said, Shaqiri is not keen on leaving Inter Milan as he had chosen to join Inter Milan to grow with the side. The Swiss international made it clear that he will only leave only for a side that he’s keen about.
He’s been mostly linked to clubs in England and Germany. In England, Stoke and Everton were interested in him, with the Potters even agreeing a transfer fee with Inter Milan but Shaqiri has no interest in joining either club. On the other hand, Shaqiri would consider a move back to Germany with Schalke 04 and Borussia Dortmund being reported as interested in him. It seems that the links with Borussia Dortmund were just rumours as the German side rejected any interest in the player. On the other hand, it seems that Schalke 04 are truly interested in him but before making a final move they require to recoup funds by selling players. It seems that Draxler may be the player that Schalke 04 are planning to sell to fund Shaqiri’s move. It seems that Shaqiri would be interested in a move to Schalke 04.
Will Inter Milan regret selling Xherdan Shaqiri?
