Premier League new boys Bournemouth and Watford drew 1-1 at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday in an entertaining draw.

The Cherries of course started the game without injured top scorer Callum Wilson.

His replacement Glenn Murray had a mixed day to say the least. The deadline day signing opened the scoring on 28 minutes, scoring from a superb cross from Matt Ritchie. Murray had already looked a danger to the Watford defence.

The home side looked comfortable in defence and the Hornets offered very little threat going forward. However, on the struck of half-time the visitors got an equaliser courtesy of a terrible mistake from home ‘keeper Artur Boruc.

The Polish international took too long with a clearance and was closed down by Odion Ighalo, who the ‘keeper then proceeded to give the ball to. The Nigerian international rounded the hapless Boruc and fired into an empty net.

The Cherries had the chance to take the lead on 83 minutes from the penalty spot. Etienne Capoue was adjudged to have brought down Adam Smith in the penalty area.

However, goalscorer Murray stepped-up and saw his spot-kick saved by Hornets ‘keeper Heurelho Gomes. The Cherries may live to regret that miss with a tough run of fixtures to come after the international break.

Eddie Howe’s side are now 16th in the Premier League table, while the Hornets are 11th in the table, and will no doubt be the happier with the point.

Will these two teams achieve Premier League survival this season?

Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson will be out for upto six months with a knee injury

Bournemouth’s top scorer Callum Wilson will be out of action for at least six months after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.

The striker sustained the injury in the Cherries 2-1 defeat at Stoke on Saturday.

The injury happened after just 17 minutes of the clash in a challenge with Potters defender Philip Wollscheid. Wilson received treatment, before coming back on, only to crumble to a heap and ask for assistance.

The news is a terrible blow for Eddie Howe’s side, as Wilson has scored five goals in the Premier League this season, and also scored 23 goals last season in helping the Cherries to promotion to the top-flight.

Wilson is the third Bournemouth in recent months to have picked-up a relatively long-term injury. Record-signing Tyrone Mings and fellow summer signing Max Gradel are out for the rest of the campaign, and six months respectably.

Bournemouth has not been prolific in front of goal, so Wilson being injured will be a big blow for the Cherries. Deadline day signing Glenn Murray is now expected to lead the line for the Cherries for the foreseeable future.

Bournemouth host fellow Premier League new boys Watford on Saturday in a crucial game for the Dorset side.

Will Bournemouth be able to survive relegation without Callum Wilson?

Today is the transfer deadline day in the Premier League and there are many deals close to completion and also done deals.

One of the biggest done deals of the day so far is Everton paying Argentinian giants River Plate £9.5million for centre-back Ramiro Funes Mori.

The 24-year-old is highly-rated and helped the club win the Copa Libertadores earlier this year. Mori has won one cap for his national team.

West Ham have been very busy on deadline day. The Hammers have re-signed defensive midfielder Alex Song from Barcelona on a season-long loan deal.

Slaven Bilic’s side have also brought in winger Victor Moses from Chelsea on a season-long loan deal and Croatian striker Nikica Jelavic from Hull for a fee in the region of £3million.

Premier League new boys Bournemouth are hoping to complete the £5million signing of Crystal Palace striker Glenn Murray, who is currently having a medical with the club from Dorset. Argentinian youngster Tomas Andrade is also expected to complete a season-long loan deal from River Plate.

Norwich have been looking to strengthen their forward options and the Canaries have brought in DR Congo international Dieumerci Mbokani from Dynamo Kiev on a season-long loan deal.

Mbokani will replace Ricky van Wolfswinkel, who has joined Spanish club Real Betis on another season-long loan deal.

Reigning Premier League champions Chelsea have strengthened their defence with the £2.7million signing of defender Papy Djilobodji from French Ligue One side Nantes. The 26-year-old has signed a four-year deal at Stamford Bridge.

Southampton are closing to strengthening their defensive options with Celtic centre-back Virgil van Dijk currently having a medical ahead of completing a £11.5million move to the south coast.

Premier League new boys Watford have allowed Mexican international defender Miguel Layun leave on a season-long loan deal to Portuguese side FC Porto.

Will there be any last-gasp big money moves on deadline day?
