Chelsea striker Diego Costa was involved in yet another controversy incident in the Blues 2-0 win over Arsenal

As usual the Premier League produced some big talking points this weekend.

The first big talking point did not take long, as in Saturday’s early kick-off saw Chelsea defeat London rivals Arsenal 2-0 at Stamford Bridge.

The biggest talking point was not the result, but an incident involving Chelsea striker Diego Costa. The Spanish international was lucky not to be dismissed for a wild swing of the arm on Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny.

Koscielny’s teammate Gabriel weighed in and was booked, as was Costa for his involvement with the Brazilian defender. However, worse was to come for the Arsenal man, as he was dismissed soon afterwards for kicking out at the former-Atletico Madrid striker.

Arsenal will feel hard done by about the sending-off and claim Costa should not have still been on the pitch. The striker seems to have a way of winding opponents up and working it to his favour.

Surprisingly, Costa has never been sent-off in his career in European football, although the latest incident is likely to be looked at by the FA and Costa could face retrospective punishment in the form of a fine and a ban.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has been forced to defend his striker and it probably will not be the last time the striker is involved in a controversial incident in his career.

Should Diego Costa have been sent-off against Arsenal?
