With all the talk of Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure potentially leaving the Citizens this summer, the fact that another City midfielder James Milner is out-of-contract has been slightly overshadowed.

In typical Milner style though, he has conducted himself in a professional manner and has kept his own counsel.

The versatile 29-year-old is vastly underrated by many, but is highly-regarded at City, despite being shifted around from position to position in his city career.

Manuel Pellegrini has stated he wants Milner to stay, but is unsure on his future and it will not be decided until the summer.

The England midfielder is believed to have attracted the attention of the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool, who according to the Daily Star are favourites to secure the midfielders signature this summer.

Milner cannot be blamed for looking at his options this summer considering that he has never really nailed down a regular first team spot at City.

Liverpool will be losing captain Steven Gerrard and Brazilian midfielder Lucas Leiva is also being linked with a move away from Merseyside in the Star, so the Reds will need midfield reinforcements and Milner may get more regular playing time at Anfield.

At City Milner does not get the headlines like Sergio Aguero, David Silva or Yaya Toure, but he does a lot of the hard work for City.

He has even adapted himself as a player to help the team out, as he is now a more complete player than the winger who first emerged at Leeds.

Milner may not get the big headlines, but the old saying about that ‘don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone’ will definitely apply if Milner does in fact leave this summer.

Who will James Milner be playing for next season?
