According to Sky Sports, Championship QPR have turned down a bid of around £12million from Leicester for star striker Charlie Austin.

The 25-year-old is regarded as hot property this summer and it is unlikely that the striker will be at Loftus Road much longer.

Linked

Leicester are currently managerless after sacking Nigel Pearson earlier this week. The bid for Austin is a very clear signal of intent from the Foxes owners that they mean business and are ambitious for the future.

However, they could be involved in a bidding war with the likes of Newcastle and West Ham, who have both been linked with the prolific front man this summer.

Goals

Charlie Austin has scored goals in every division he has played in. From his humble beginning in the non-league with Poole Town to last season, to last season when he scored 18 Premier League goals in his debut campaign in the top-flight.

Playing in a team that struggled and scoring that many goals is an admirable achievement for Austin and the striker was recently rewarded for his good form with a call-up to the England squad.

Unlikely

Charlie Austin is reportedly available for the grand old fee of £15million. The striker has proven last season that he can score goals in the English top-flight and he would be a good addition to most Premier League squads.

It seems that Leicester have major competition on their hands to sign the striker and without a manager it is highly doubtful that the Foxes will win the race for highly-rated front man.

Where will Charlie Austin be plying his trade next season?
