Mk Dons boss Karl Robinson says that Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli could be a wildcard for England’s Euro 2016 squad.

The highly-rated young midfielder helped the Dons to promotion to the Championship last season, before making a summer move to Tottenham.

Robinson is a big admirer of the youngster, having given the youngster his professional debut as a 16-year-old.

He told Sky Sports: “I’m sure Roy Hodgson will have ideas of who he’ll take. As a wildcard Dele ticks a number of boxes: he can play down the left, play at No 10, No 8 and can also sit in midfield and dictate the game from deep.

“I’ve seen most of the games, and he’s played in a number of positions. I think being versatile as a young player aids your minutes on pitch, and that’s where he’s got a bit of an advantage.”

Alli has been playing regularly for Spurs this season, and has already shown his versatile playing in a couple of different positions.

The youngster made his England under-21 debut earlier this year, but has been tipped by many to be a star of the future, for club and country.

Could Dele Alli force his way into England’s Euro 2016 squad?
