Barcelona recorded a 2-0 win over PSG in the Champions League quarter-final second leg at the Nou Camp on Tuesday night.

The Catalan giants claimed a 5-1 aggregate victory over the two legs of the tie.

The damage was done for PSG in the first half, as Brazilian poster boy Neymar scored a brace. The opening goal arrived on 14 minutes and was created beautifully by playmaker Andres Iniesta.

The Spanish international pick the ball up in his own half, took on two PSG defenders and released a perfect through-ball to find the Brazilian, who went round Salvatore Sirigu in the PSG goal and rolled the ball into an empty net.

Former-Barcelona Zlatan Ibrahimovic thought he had equalised on the night three minutes later, but the Swedish star’s effort was correctly disallowed for offside.

The second goal arrived on 34 minutes. Brazilian full-back Dani Alves raided down the right flank, beat compatriot David Luiz, before finding Neymar, who headed past Sirigu with a powerful header.

The visitors never really looked like getting back into the game and the home team cruised into the last four of the competition.

Favourites

With Barcelona and Bayern Munich now through to the semi-finals of the Champions League the pair are joint-favourites to claim the trophy.

However, if Real Madrid overcomes neighbours Atletico in tonight’s second leg, then there is going to be very little between the three teams.

The prospect of Juventus joining the trio in the quarter-finals would make the last four of the competition very hard to predict. One thing is for sure the Champions League semi-finals will be full of intrigue and drama, whoever makes it through to the last four.

Is Barcelona the best team in European football?
