This weekend is a big one in the battle for survival in the Premier League, with the fight to avoid the drop now very tight.

Sunderland travel to midtable Everton in the early kick-off on Saturday.

The Black Cats have a terrible record against the Toffees, having claim just two wins in their last 23 meetings with the Merseysider’s in all competitions.

However one of those victories came at Goodison Park last season. Dick Advocaat’s team are a point away from safety with four tough games remaining.

Hull are just a point above the Black Cats in the table and face a must-win home game with bottom-of-the table Burnley at the KC Stadium later in the afternoon. The Tigers also have a tough end to the season, so a win against the all-but relegated Clarets is vital.

Newcastle United hosts West Brom at St James Park with the north east club in crisis. John Carver’s men are just two points above the relegation zone and have suffered eight defeats in a row in the top-flight. A further defeat could see the Magpies slip into the relegation zone.

Leicester City hosts Southampton at the King Power Stadium, just a point above the drop zone. However, the Foxes have won five out of their last six games and the only defeat in that run came against champions Chelsea.

Aston Villa hosts midtable West Ham at Villa Park, with just two points separating the Villans from the drop zone. However, their 3-2 home victory over in-form Everton last weekend lifted spirits of every involved at the club.

The picture at the bottom of the Premier League table may be much clearer by the end of the weekend, with teams pulling away from danger and teams slipping further into the abyss of the Championship.

Which relegation-threatened teams will pick-up wins this weekend?
