Premier League new boys Bournemouth are being linked with a £3million bid for Hull City centre-back Curtis Davies in January in the pipeline according to the Daily Mirror

The 30-year-old is out of contract with the Tigers in the summer and is likely to leave for a fee in January instead of the Championship team losing the former-West Brom player in the summer for nothing.

Bournemouth has struggled to keep clean sheets in the top-flight and are currently short of centre-back options with captain and centre-back Tommy Elphick currently out of action through injury.

With the Cherries conceding so many goals this season then defensive reinforcements may be boss Eddie Howe’s main priority in the January transfer window.

Davies has vast experience in the top two divisions of English football having played in the Premier League with Aston Villa, West Brom and Hull, before the Tigers relegation last season.

Davies is entering the latter stages of his career, so may well fancy a return to the top-flight in the near future.

However with Hull top of the Championship table, a switch to relegation-threatened Bournemouth may be a gamble for Davies, as the Cherries could be in for a swift return to the second tier, with the Tigers heading in the opposite direction.

Will Curtis Davies be heading for Bournemouth in January?
