According to the Express, West Brom are lining up a move for in-demand QPR striker Charlie Austin if their own striker Saido Berahino completes a big money move to Spurs.

Austin has been linked with moves to a host of Premier League clubs, but it is believed that none have made a bid that matches the Hoops £15million valuation of the striker.

Newcastle were believed to be the favourites to sign Austin, but now the likes of Bournemouth, West Ham and Crystal Palace are all being linked with a move for the striker, who scored 18 goals in the top-flight last season in his first ever campaign in the Premier League.

The Baggies young striker Saido Berahino has handed in a transfer request at the Hawthorns, after Tottenham had a bid for the striker turned down by the Baggies hierarchy.

The Midlands club are also reported to have flatly turned down Berahino’s transfer request.

Despite the request and the transfer offer being turned down, Spurs are expected to continue the chase for the 22-year-old England under-21 international.

The Baggies have already strengthened their strike-force this summer with the signings of strikers Rickie Lambert and Salomon Rondon, the latter was a club-record purchase for the Midlands side.

However, despite the new additions it seems that West Brom boss Tony Pulis may feel that they need more firepower should Berahino leave the Hawthorns in the next week, and Austin is well capable of providing that.

Is the Hawthorns Charlie Austin’s next Premier League destination?
