QPR striker Charlie Austin has revealed that he is likely to stay with his current employers until the summer, despite having been one of the most in-demand players last summer.

The former-Burnley striker scored 18 Premier League goals last season, but the Hoops were relegated to the Championship.

His goal scoring exploits led to Austin being linked with a move to half the Premier League clubs in the summer. Surprisingly though he failed to make a move back to the top-flight and stayed in the Championship.

Austin has been out of action for the last month or so, but is nearing a return to fitness and has scored seven goals in his nine Championship appearances this season. He was recently linked with a January move to Sunderland.

However Austin has stated that’s unlikely saying: “I can’t see myself leaving in January, because I’m concentrating on playing for QPR. I think I owe it them and my loyalty is with them, to help them and get promoted.

“Football is a small career and you have to make the right decisions, the right moves, and if it’s right for myself, and my family and the people I bounce the ideas off then I will take on anything.”

If Austin chooses to leave as a free agent next summer then there will no doubt be a very long queue of clubs looking to sign him.

Will Charlie Austin leave QPR before next summer?
