Tottenham and England striker Harry Kane has vowed to rediscover his goal scoring touch.
The 22-year-old thought he had scored against Lithuania for England in Euro 2016 qualifying, but the ball had actually hit the post and then the Lithuanian ‘keeper before crossing the goal line.
Kane was the second highest scorer in the Premier League last season, but has scored just once for Spurs and twice for England this season. However the striker is not worried about the lack of goals of late.
After the game he said: “It’s a scandal! I was unlucky not to score officially. I got a few shots off and was quite pleased with the way I played. I’ve just got to keep going at it, keep working hard and the goals will come.
“It’s been a very open season. I think that’s the standard of the Premier League; anyone can beat anyone. That’s been shown a lot this season.
“We have Liverpool on Saturday and we are really looking forward to it. Hopefully we can perform well again and get another three points.”
As Kane says his Spurs side come up against Liverpool, who will have German boss Jurgen Klopp in their dugout for the first time on Saturday.
