Premier League runners-up Manchester City could be ready to spend £150million this summer on strengthening their squad, according to the Daily Mirror.
Poor
Last season the Citizens were poor by their high standards and finished second in the Premier League table behind Chelsea. The City hierarchy have promised to bring in ‘high quality players’ this summer.
Linked
City are now being linked with moves for Kevin de Bruyne, Paul Pogba, Raheem Sterling and Giannelli Imbula. City have already had a bid of around £25million plus add-ons turned down by Liverpool for Sterling and are believed to have made a £58million approach to sign Pogba.
De Bruyne is rated at £30million by Wolfsburg, while Marseille midfield star Imbula is rated in the £22million bracket.
The Citizens look prepared to shell out a massive amount of money this summer. They are obviously looking to strengthen their midfield positions and their wide options.
In-demand
City could face big competition for Pogba from the likes of Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid, as well as French giants PSG. The 22-year-old has become one of the most in-demand players in world football in recent years.
Stale
The City team of last season looked slightly stale and there definitely needs to be fresh energy added to the aging City squad this summer. All four players would add quality, youth and energy to that City squad.
However, they will not come cheap and City may have a job on their hands prising the players away from their current clubs.
