Aston Villa’s star striker Christian Benteke could be set for a £32million move to Manchester United according to the Metro.

The 24-year-old has hit form of late and helped Villa to make it to the FA Cup final, as well as move away from the relegation zone.

Liverpool are also believed to be interested in signing the striker this summer, but know they face stiff competition from their north west rivals.

The Belgian international had struggled to regain the form of his debut season in English football, until the last few months that is. The former-Genk striker has now scored 11 goals in his 10 games for the Villans.

His form has again attracted the big boy’s attention and Villa knows they face a losing battle in attempts to keep hold of their prize asset if he wishes to move on this summer.

Both United and Liverpool look to be in the market for the striker, with their strikers underperforming this season.

There are doubts over the future of United striker Robin van Persie and it looks unlikely that the Red Devils will make Radamel Falcao’s loan deal a permanent one.

Meanwhile Liverpool’s star striker Daniel Sturridge has struggled with injuries all season. The Reds other forwards Fabio Borini, Rickie Lambert and Mario Balotelli have all struggled to make an impact at Anfield.

Benteke would no doubt add something to both the respective teams. He has all he attributes to become a world-class striker. He has pace, strength and is good in the air.

His destination is unknown at the moment, but he would be a good buy for either club this summer.

Where will Christian Benteke be plying his trade next season?
