Liverpool added to Jose Mourinho and Chelsea’s woes with a 3-1 victory over the Blues at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League’s early kick-off.

It looked like Chelsea’s fortunes may be on the turn when they took the lead on four minutes. Cesar Azpilicueta produced a superb cross and Brazilian midfielder Ramires headed past Simon Mignolet.

Despite that early goal, Chelsea looked shaky and Liverpool equalised in first half stoppage-time. Philippe Coutinho picked the ball-up on the edge of the area and curled a superb effort past Asmir Begovic in the Chelsea goal.

Liverpool capitalised on Chelsea’s nerves on 74 minutes and took the lead. Again it was Coutinho, whose shot from inside the area took a deflection off John Terry and looped over Begovic’s head.

Reds striker Christian Benteke picked-up the ball in the penalty area and had plenty of time to turn and pick his spot past Begovic. The goal resulted in crazy celebrations from the Liverpool bench and boss Jurgen Klopp.

Chelsea had no answer and suffered their seventh defeat in their 18 games this season. The defeat will add to the pressure on under-fire Blues boss Jose Mourinho, whose second stint as Chelsea boss is now under questions.

Will defeat against Liverpool lead to Mourinho’s Chelsea exit?
