Argentinian international playmaker Angel Di Maria has completed his £44.3million move from Manchester United to big spending French club PSG. The former-Real Madrid star has signed a four-year deal with the Parisians.
The Red Devils will have been disappointed to make a £15million loss on the star. The 27-year-old only joined United last summer in a British-record £59.7million move from Real Madrid.
He made a decent start to his United career, but injuries hampered his time at Old Trafford.
Di Maria’s form slipped in the last few months of the campaign and he started just one of the Red Devils last ten games last season.
He struggled to settle in England, as a burglary at his new home and communication problems did not help Di Maria settle at his new club.
Sadly the talented Argentine midfielder will be considered a Premier League flop, even if it is just because of his hefty fee.
It would be harsh considering he produced 10 assists and only Chelsea’s Spanish star Cesc Fabregas managed more per minute than the Argentinian international last season.
Angel Di Maria arrived at Old Trafford as a marquee signing and he will no doubt become a key player for the ambitious Parisian club, who are looking to win the Champions League in the near future.
The season before he moved to the Premier League Di Maria had just completed his most consistent season of his career with Los Blancos.
It is a shame for the Premier League and Manchester United that Angel Di Maria has left this summer, as he is highly-talented player, whose off-the-field circumstances did not help his on the field performances.
Should Angel Di Maria be considered a Premier League flop?
