Bournemouth were promoted to the Premier League as winners of the Championship last season.

They were one of the surprise packages in the second tier under talented young boss Eddie Howe.

The Cherries scored the most goals and kept the most clean sheets in the league. The Dorset club also generally wowed fans with their expansive brand of football. They are a team who are likely to cause a lot of shocks in the top-flight this season.

As a promoted side the Cherries will automatically be down as one of the three favourites to be relegated, but the truth is they have the potential to survive in the top-flight and in style too.

Bournemouth have never graced the top-flight of English football in their 125 year history. They are arguably also the smallest club to ever play Premier League football. However nobody at the club are just in the top-flight to enjoy their season in the sun.

Some clubs are promoted and they never really truly believe that they can stay in the top-flight, but everything coming out of Bournemouth seems to suggest they are planning a long-term stay in the Premier League.

The Cherries have been very active in the transfer market this summer bringing in the likes of Tyrone Mings, Sylvain Distin, Max Gradel, Christian Atsu, Artur Boruc and Lee Tomlin to strengthen their squad.

The Cherries may have never been in the top-flight before, but there is a sense that they do not plan on a return to the Championship anytime soon.

Could Bournemouth be the surprise package this season?
