Former Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti has refused to rule out a return to the Premier League club, but believes that Jose Mourinho will not be sacked in the near future.

Chelsea have endured a torrid start to the defence of their Premier League crown and currently sit 16th place in the top-flight table, having collected just 11 points this season. The Blues struggles have led to speculation over the future of boss Mourinho.

Talking about Chelsea, Ancelotti told the Daily Mail: “I would have no problem with Chelsea,”

“But Jose won’t be sacked. They already choose to keep him, and I think they made a good choice.”

Ancelotti has been mooted as a possible replacement for Mourinho in the Blues dugout, despite the fact that he had been sacked by the Blues earlier in his career.

Being sacked by Blues owner Roman Abramovich did not stop Mourinho returning to Stamford Bridge for a second spell though.

Ancelotti was sacked by Real Madrid at the end of the last campaign, after Los Blancos failed to win any silverware and arch-rivals Barcelona dominated at home and abroad.

Chelsea has been linked with a number of bosses, including Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola, whose contract expires in the summer. However the Spaniard is one of the most in-demand bosses in world football, so there is no guarantee that Guardiola would be interested in a move to Chelsea.

Will Carlo Ancelotti be the next Chelsea boss?
