Argentinian striker Carlos Tevez has completed his return to former-club Boca Juniors from Juventus, after scoring the winning penalty for his country in a 5-4 semi-final penalty shoot-out victory over Colombia at the Copa America.
The Argentinian club actually announced that Tevez would be returning to his homeland during the clash, but terms of the deal are yet to be revealed.
The 31-year-old began his career at Boca in 2004, before moving to Corinthians and then on to West Ham, Manchester United and Manchester City.
Tevez enjoyed a fine campaign for Juventus scoring 27 goals and helping the Bianconeri to the domestic double of Coppa Italia and Serie A title and of course the Champions League final.
However, he had been linked with a move away from Turin for the majority of the summer with the likes of Liverpool and Atletico Madrid mooted as possible destinations for the hard-working striker.
No doubt it is a major coup for the Argentinian club, as the striker could no doubt have remained in Europe for a few more years.
The experienced striker has expressed his desire to return to his homeland in the past though and it has been suggested he has struggled with homesickness during his time in European football.
Juventus have already moved to strengthen their forward line this summer by bringing in Croatian striker Mario Mandzukic from Atletico Madrid and Tevez’s compatriot Paulo Dybala from Palermo.
Tevez will be a major loss to the Bianconeri, but the signings Mandzukic and Dybala in particular should make up for his absence next season.
