On Wednesday night Premier League leaders Chelsea came back from a goal down at Leicester to win 3-1 and move within one victory of winning the league title.

The first half was rather a dull affair with very few chances, until the 41st minute when Chelsea ‘keeper Petr Cech got down well to deny a Paul Konchesky effort.

Esteban Cambiasso and Marc Albrighton also threatened the Chelsea goal, but could not find a breakthrough.

The opening goal did arrive in first half stoppage-time though. Jamie Vardy broke down the wing and fired in an inviting cross, which Chelsea full-back Cesar Azpilicueta missed completely due to slipping.

However, Foxes winger Marc Albrighton was on hand to fire past the helpless Cech in the Chelsea goal.

The visitors came out fired up after the break and it took just three minutes to for them to level the scores. Branislav Ivanovic produced a pinpoint cross for Didier Drogba who turned back the years to fire a powerful effort past Kasper Schmeichel.

Drogba then missed a couple of good opportunities to increase the Blues lead, but Jose Mourinho’s team did find a second goal on 79 minutes.

From Cesc Fabregas’ corner Gary Cahill saw a powerful header saved by Schmeichel, only for John Terry to follow up and poke the ball into the net from close-range.

The victory was complete on 83 minutes. Cesc Fabregas showed good skill on the flank before finding Ramires just outside the area and the Brazilian scored with a brilliantly powerfully effort that beat Schmeichel all ends up.

The victory keep Leicester just above the relegation zone, while the Blues now only have to win their home game against Chelsea on Saturday to be crowned English champions for the fifth time in their history.

Can Leicester still survive the drop this season?
