Can Remi Garde help Aston Villa shock Manchester City on Sunday?

On Sunday the top and bottom teams in the Premier League meet, as Aston Villa hosts Manchester City at Villa Park.

Usually Villa would not be expected to cause the Citizens many problems, but Villa appointing French boss Remi Garde may just put a spoke in the wheels of the City bike.

Villa has lost their last seven Premier League games and are rock bottom of the top-flight table. The Citizens have looked strong this season and is strong favourites to win the title.

Last time out in the top-flight Manuel Pellegrini’s side struggled to defeat another struggling side Norwich at the Etihad Stadium, with Yaya Toure’s late spot-kick giving the Citizens a 2-1 victory.

Remi Garde’s arrival should provoke a revival at the Midlands club, as the former-Arsenal midfielder impressed in his time as Lyon boss in Ligue One. The Frenchman is certainly a man of pedigree, but he has a big task on his hands trying to revive the Villans.

City may have been impressive for much of the season, but a new manager can often provide a boost a struggling team needs and the Citizens need to beware of that as they roll up to Villa Park.

Can Villa cause a surprise at Villa Park on Sunday?
