Former-Manchester United boss David Moyes turned down the chance of a return to the Premier League

Former-Manchester United and Everton boss David Moyes has revealed that he turned down offers from Premier League clubs this summer.

Moyes is currently in charge of La Liga club Real Sociedad and seems happy in his Spanish home.

Moyes told Spanish publication El Diario Vasco: “This summer I received a lot of offers to return to the Premier League but I have decided to stay here because I believe in this project and I believe in the players we have – players who I know much better now,”

The highly-rated Scottish boss received severe criticism for his spell in charge of Premier League giants Manchester United, where he was in charge for less than a season.

However, he had spent the previous 11 years forging a solid managerial reputation on Merseyside with Everton, turning the Toffees fortunes round. The only thing missing during that long spell was silverware, much to the Scot’s regret.

A new challenge in the Spanish top-flight seems to have lifted Moyes spirits again after that poor spell in Manchester and the lifestyle in San Sebastien seems to be suiting the Scot.

The 52-year-old has previously admitted that he will one day return to the Premier League and will be a better manager for his experiences in Spain, so maybe ten months is not enough to have gained a big enough insight into the Spanish game and mind-set.

Will David Moyes be a success in La Liga?
