Last night’s terrible terror attacks on Paris sent shockwaves throughout the world. One of those attacks took place outside the home of French football the Stade de France, as France was playing Germany in a friendly international match.
Three people were killed in that particular attack while 127 people died in five separate incidents in the French capital city.
The attacks obviously caused widespread panic throughout Europe and there have been calls for the friendly games planned for the next few days to be called-off.
However, France are set to play their friendly international with England at Wembley on Tuesday night and I think it is the right decision made by the FFF. They are showing a resolve that will help the world overcome terror attacks like the one of last night.
The attackers wanted people to stop their everyday lives and they want people to live in fear. I am sorry but that is just not right. We live in a free world and modern society does not tolerate terrorism.
These people who committed those despicable attacks last night should not be allowed to disrupt the lives of good honest people.
Football now has a chance to send out a message that terrorists will not win and that football supporters will be allowed to go and watch the game they love.
I would just like to send my condolences to the friends and family of those killed in Paris and I hope their loved ones rest in peace.
