According to widespread reports Everton are about to seal the signing of Barcelona winger Gerard Deulofeu for a fee in the region of £3million, with a buy-back clause inserted in his contract.
The youngster had enjoyed a successful loan deal on Merseyside in season 2013/14.
Attitude
The 21-year-old was once regarded as one of the brightest young players in European football. However, last season he endured a poor spell on-loan at Sevilla, where his attitude was questioned by boss Unai Emery.
His attitude was also questioned while he was still in Catalonia. There were no signs of a poor attitude at Everton in his successful loan. Deulofeu’s fellow Catalan Everton boss Roberto Martinez seemed to know how to treat him.
Loved
Deulofeu is a player who comes across as a player who needs to be loved. He may have a big ego, but he also has the ability to go with it on his day.
Everton fans warmed to the young Catalan straight away and he showed his appreciation to the Toffees fans with a letter of thanks when he finished his loan spell at Everton.
Permanent
Deulofeu did not want another loan spell this season. The youngster wanted a permanent move and apparently wanted a return to Merseyside.
It seems everybody will win in this deal. The fee of £3million for a player of his technical ability is an absolute steal for Everton.
Deulofeu will get a chance to prove his immense ability and become a hero with the Toffees. The Spanish youngster could be the bargain signing of the close season.
Will Deulofeu be successful in his second spell at Everton?
