As I wrote in an article a few days ago, Newcastle are in major trouble and the north east club have decided to issue a statement stating that hapless boss John Carver will remain in charge of the club, despite his team suffering eight straight Premier League defeats and the Magpies being sucked into the relegation battle.
In truth Newcastle fans cannot blame Carver for his poor management. He is a true Geordie born and bred. However, just because he is a Newcastle native does that mean he can manage his local football club.
I mean the Magpies would not leave Cheryl Cole or Ant and Dec in charge of their football club just because they were Geordies, or would they?
They may even do a better job than Carver, but would be too expensive for Mike Ashley’s shallow pockets.
Carver has always came across as a decent enough guy and he obviously cares about the team he is attempting to manage, but he is just not cut out to be a Premier League boss. Most Newcastle fans could have told you that prior to his appointment.
However, the Toon Army are knowledgeable enough about their club to know that nothing ever seems to run smoothly for their team, or club. There also seems to have to be drama connected with Newcastle Football Club.
Carver’s ineptness and Ashley’s short-sightedness in appointing the long-term coach could cause the worst sort of drama for the Newcastle faithful this season, that’s relegation to the Championship.
Will Newcastle survive the drop this season?
