Hungary has qualified for Euro 2016, after defeating Norway 3-1 on aggregate in the play-offs.

The Hungarians sealed their place in France by beating Norway 2-1 at the Groupama Arena on Sunday night.

Bernd Storck’s side headed into the second leg 1-0 up from the first leg in Norway and took the lead on 14 minutes through an effort from former-Watford striker Tamas Priskin.

The Hungarians doubled their lead on 83 minutes, as midfielder Markus Henriksen put past his own ‘keeper from a corner kick.

The midfielder got a goal back for the visitors four minutes later, but it was too little too late for the Scandinavians. The underdogs claimed a historic victory to seal their place at the European Championships for the first time since 1972.

Storck’s team also made it to their first major championship since the 1986 World Cup and it is a major achievement for the country.

This evening Republic of Ireland and Bosnia and Herzegovina go head to head in another European Championship play-off.

The first leg finished 1-1, so the game is very well balanced heading into the game at the Aviva Stadium. The hosts hold a slight advantage, having scored an away goal in the first leg.

How will Hungary fare at Euro 2016?
