Former-Aston Villa and Norwich boss Paul Lambert has returned to football after being appointed as manager of Championship club Blackburn Rovers.

Rovers are struggling in the Championship in 16th position, just four points clear of the relegation zone. The recent poor run of form saw boss Gary Bowyer sacked last week.

Lambert has been out of work since leaving Aston Villa in February. He left the Villans struggling near the bottom of the Premier League table. In truth his Villa team were struggling for goals and Lambert was heavily criticised by Villa fans.

However prior to his stint Villa Park Lambert enjoyed a successful spell at Norwich, where he built a reputation as one of the most promising up-and-coming young British bosses.

Lambert guided the Canaries from League One to promotion to the top-flight and kept them there for a season before leaving for Villa Park. Rovers have endured a difficult couple of years, as they have struggled to get back to the Premier League.

Rovers fans will be hoping that Lambert can re-produce his results from his time at Norwich and not the results he experienced at Villa.

Will Paul Lambert be able to guide Blackburn to promotion this season?
