Chelsea winger Juan Cuadrado is set for a move back to Serie A with Juventus

According to BBC Sport, Chelsea’s Colombian international winger Juan Cuadrado is on the verge of joining Italian champions Juventus on-loan.

The 27-year-old is currently in Turin tying up the formalities of the deal.

Cuadrado struggled to find his feet in the Premier League last season, after moving to Stamford Bridge from Fiorentina for a fee of around £26million in the January transfer window.

He made just 15 appearances for the Blues, which included just four starts in the top-flight. Cuadrado’s days at Chelsea were numbered the second the Premier League champions signed Pedro from Barcelona.

Cuadrado arrived at Chelsea with a big reputation, as well as a big fee, especially after impressing for his national side at last year’s World Cup in Brazil. He was regarded as an exciting addition to an already talented Chelsea squad.

However, he has just struggled to settle in south west London and is heading to Turin to kick-start his flagging career.

Cuadrado may fare better in Serie A, as he spent six years in the Italian top-flight with Fiorentina and prior to that Udinese, before his move to the Blues in January

Effectively Cuadrado’s replacement, Pedro made an instant impact on his debut by picking up a goal and an assist in the Blues 3-2 victory at West Brom on Sunday.

It seems doubtful that many Chelsea fans will be crying any tears over Cuadrado’s exit, as he never really managed to show his best form at Stamford Bridge and it looks unlikely that he will ever wear a Chelsea shirt again.

Can Juan Cuadrado hit top form at Juventus?
