Its official Jurgen Klopp is now the boss of Liverpool Football Club.

The former-Dortmund boss was appointed as Brendan Rodgers successor on Thursday night and the German is currently having his first press conference as Reds boss.

The appointment has been met by widespread jubilation from fans of the Merseyside club, as the 48-year-old is rated as one of the best bosses in the European game, despite his Dortmund team only finishing seventh in the Bundesliga table last season.

Prior to last season though, Klopp had done an incredible job of reviving BVB and turning them into a team that competed with the best team’s home and abroad.

Klopp guided Dortmund to consecutive Bundesliga titles, despite the fact that title rivals Bayern Munich had far bigger resources available to them.

Klopp even guided Dortmund to the Champions League final in 2013, only for his team to lose 2-1 to rivals Bayern in the final courtesy of a late Arjen Robben strike.

Klopp is expected to bring trusted coaches Zeljko Buvac and Peter Krawietz with him. Both men worked alongside Klopp at Mainz and then later at Dortmund.

Former first team coach Gary McAllister has been handed an ambassadorial role within the club, while former assistant Sean O’Driscoll has left the club.

Is Jurgen Klopp the right man to revive Liverpool?
