According to Sky Sports, Liverpool are in advanced talks with German boss Jurgen Klopp, and the former-Dortmund chief could be announced as the next Reds boss in the next 48 hours.
The 48-year-old is set to travel to Merseyside on Thursday to continued talks with a view to replacing Brendan Rodgers as the Reds boss, after the Northern Irishman was sacked following the Merseyside derby 1-1 draw with Everton.
Klopp is the clubs first choice to be their next boss, second choice Carlo Ancelotti now looks like an unlikely appointment as he recently stated that he does not want a return to management until next season.
The German has spoken to the Liverpool owners, but has not yet agreed a deal with the Reds owners.
If Klopp does arrive at the club, then he is likely to bring his former-assistant at Dortmund Zeljko Buvac. The Bosnian is a highly-rated coach and is known as ‘The Brain’, because of his tactical acumen.
The pair met when the two were playing for Mainz in 1992, and Klopp appointed Buzac as his assistant at their former-club in 2001. It seems like the pair will be reuniting at Anfield in the near future.
