Leicester will continue their bid for Premier League survival, as they host out-of-form Newcastle United on Saturday at the King Power Stadium.

Nigel Pearson’s side lost 3-1 against champions elect Chelsea last time out in the Premier League, but had won their previous four top-flight games prior to the visit of Jose Mourinho’s men.

The Foxes recent good form has saw the side from the Midlands rise from bottom of the table to 17th position and out of the dreaded relegation zone.

Nigel Pearson reacted angrily to questions in the post-match press conference after the Chelsea defeat, but will know that his team have given themselves a fantastic chance of survival with just four league games remaining.

Newcastle are terribly out-of-form, having lost their last seven games in the top-flight.

The Magpies are still not safe from relegation, as they are just five points clear of Sunderland who currently occupy the last relegation spot and also have a game in-hand.

However, John Carver’s team will be buoyed by the fact that they have not lost against the Foxes in their last nine meetings.

Team News

The home side are without striker David Nugent, while centre-back Robert Huth is also doubt for the Foxes. Midfielder Andy King was substituted in the Chelsea defeat because of injury, but should feature in this one.

For the visitors Moussa Sissoko will return from a two-match suspension, while Dutch forward Siem de Jong could start the game after making his return from a long-term injury with a goal from the bench against Swansea.

Defender Paul Dummett could also be set to return for the Magpies after a long injury lay-off.

Conclusion

Leicester will be confident of a victory in this clash, especially at the King Power Stadium. For Newcastle a defeat in this game and results going against them elsewhere could have them looking nervously over their shoulders.

Can Leicester continue their decent run of form?
