Manchester City continued their perfect start to their Premier League campaign with a last-gasp 1-0 victory at Crystal Palace.
The home side were arguably unlucky not to take a point, after a very even game at Selhurst Park.
City suffered an injury blow in the first half, as star striker Sergio Aguero appeared to sustain a knee problem. The Argentinian international was replaced by new signing Kevin De Bruyne.
However it was Nigerian teenager Kelechi Iheanacho who scored the vital late winner. Samir Nasri’s long-range effort was pushed away by Alex McCarthy, but the youngster reacted fastest to score from close-range.
The win made it five wins out of five Premier League games this season and the Citizens are now 11 points clear of reigning champions Chelsea, who suffered a 3-1 defeat at Everton.
Everton took the lead on 17 minutes, as substitute Steven Naismith nodded home Brendan Galloway’s pinpoint cross. The Scottish international doubled his tally five minutes later, beating Blues ‘keeper Asmir Begovic with a fine low effort.
The visitors looked to be back in the game on 36 minutes, as Serbian midfielder produced a superb long-range strike. Chelsea looked to have the momentum, but the Toffees sealed the win on 82 minutes.
Ross Barkley produced a superb through-ball to the Scot, who from a relatively tight angle fired past Begovic in the Chelsea goal.
