Premier League leaders will learn the extent of star striker Sergio Aguero’s knee injury later today.
The Argentinian limped-off on Saturday in City’s 1-0 win at Crystal Palace after a hefty challenge by Eagles centre-back Scott Dann.
The 27-year-old underwent initial scans and assessment on Sunday which proved inconclusive, so the striker will be re-assessed.
The striker took to social media on Sunday to keep fans updated on the situation tweeting: “Keeping you updated – I had studies done today, to be completed tomorrow. We’ll have a clearer picture then. Thanks for the support.”
The striker has a history of picking-up injuries in recent years and everybody involved with City will be hopeful that the striker’s injury is a long-term problem.
The Argentinian international is a doubt for City’s Champions League clash with Juventus on Tuesday night.
The Citizens already have doubts over the fitness of winger Raheem Sterling and playmaker David Silva for the clash with the Bianconeri, after both missed the victory over Palace.
Saturday’s clash at Selhurst Park saw the City debut of club-record signing Kevin De Bruyne and the Belgian international could start the Champions League clash at the Juventus Stadium, due to the fact the Citizens have so many doubts over their attacking players.
