Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling looks set for a move to Manchester City

According to Sky Sports, Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling’s almost inevitable big money move to Manchester City has moved a step closer, as the Citizens are believed to be in advanced talks with the Merseysider’s over a massive deal.

The youngster has not travelled with the rest of the Reds first team squad for the tour of Thailand, Australia and Malaysia. A deal is yet to be agreed, but it seems the youngster has stayed behind in an attempt to complete any prospective move.

Manchester City are believed to have already seen two bids rejected by the Merseysider’s for the winger, but look determined to sign the highly-rated England international this summer.

The 20-year-old appears to be their prime transfer target this summer as boss Manuel Pellegrini attempts to strengthen his squad for another Premier League title challenge in the coming season.

Sterling seems to be the perfect fit for the Citizens, as they are in need of fresh additions to their squad after a tepid campaign last season.

The Citizens are in need of young, energetic players who will provide the team with more thrust than last season. The fact that Sterling is homegrown will also add to his appeal, as City are struggling to meet the criteria for homegrown players for the new season.

Sterling may be heading to the Etihad Stadium for next season, but one player who will not be is Aston Villa captain Fabian Delph. The midfielder held talks with City over a potential £8million move, but has decided to continue his career with the Villans.

Is Raheem Sterling overrated?
