According the Daily Telegraph, Manchester United are ready to make a £100million bid for Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale this summer.

United boss Louis van Gaal is expected to once again have a big transfer kitty available to him this summer.

Bale has enjoyed mixed fortunes in the Spanish capital, helping Los Blancos to win La Decima last season and helping the Spanish giants to compete for both the Champions League and La Liga crowns this season.

The Wales international scored crucial goals for Los Blancos in his first campaign in Madrid and was deemed to have had a successful debut campaign with the Spanish giants.

However, Bale has come in for criticism of his performances this season from both the Madrid fans and also the media, which has led to question marks over his future in the Spanish capital.

The former-Tottenham star has even been booed and whistled by his own fans.

The noises coming out of Spain suggest that the 25-year-old is determined to stay with Los Blancos and prove his worth in the next couple of seasons instead of leaving and being deemed a failure with the Spanish giants.

United did attempt to sign Bale prior to his £85million move to Real Madrid from Tottenham in 2013, but the Welshman decided to make the move to Spain instead.

Van Gaal and United look determined to strengthen their squad heavily this summer and Gareth Bale returning to English football would be an exciting prospect.

Bale does not strike me as a quitter though and I do believe he will stay in Spain and work hard to prove himself a success.

Will Manchester United sign Gareth Bale this summer?
