Barcelona and Spain forward Pedro has been linked with Premier League giants Chelsea and Manchester United this summer.

The 27-year-old star has only recently signed a new contract with the European champions, with a release clause of £22million inserted into that new contract.

Pedro has been one of the unsung heroes of the Catalan team in recent years. For all his talent though he is never going to displace Lionel Messi, Neymar or Luis Suarez from the Barcelona attack, so the best he can hope for is the odd run out for the Catalan giants.

Despite not being first choice last season, Pedro still managed to score 14 goals last season. It seems that the forward is becoming impatient with living in the shadows of Messi and co and could be on the move in the near future.

However according to Barcelona’s new president Josep Bartomeu the Catalan giants have not received any bids for Pedro. He told the media:  “We have not received any offers for any player,”

“I refer back to what head coach Luis Enrique said – if someone wants to sign our players then the release clause must be met. So far, no one has made an offer, so we are calm.”

Pedro is a player that looks well suited to the Premier League. His directness and goalscoring ability would be ideal for the Premier League.

However after Jose Mourinho’s admission that he does not need any more players it seems that United is his more likely destination if he does move to the English top-flight this summer.

Will Pedro be plying his trade in the Premier League in the new season?
