Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola will face former-club Barcelona in the Champions League semi-finals

The Champions League semi-final draw has been made and has thrown up two very good ties.

Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola will pit his wits against his former-club Barcelona in one tie, as Real Madrid and Juventus go head-to-head in the other tie of the semi-finals.

Guardiola has never come up against his former-team since leaving Catalonia in 2012. The 44-year-old led Barcelona to three La Liga and two Champions League titles in his four years in charge at the Nou Camp.

Guardiola is set to claim his second consecutive Bundesliga title and will be aiming to collect a third Champions League crown this time with the Bavarians.

However, Barcelona will be keen to exact revenge on the Germans for the 2013 7-0 aggregate hammering at the semi-final stage.

The other tie will see Real Madrid attempting to create history, as no club has retained the Champions League in its current guise. Los Blancos are the most successful club in the history of the European Cup winning it ten times.

The last time these two teams met was in the 1998 final, where the Spaniards triumphed 1-0 to end a 32-year wait to win the competition, courtesy of a Pedrag Mijatovic goal.

The Italians could represent tough opposition though, as they have lost just once at home in all competitions this season.

The Old Lady are again dominating Serie A and are expected to seal the title in the next few weeks. A double of Serie A title and Champions League is not out of the question for Massimiliano Allegri’s side.

Who will make it to the Champions League final?
