According to the Daily Mirror, PSV and Holland international Memphis Depay has been flown into Manchester by Manchester United to discuss terms on a £25million move to Old Trafford.

Reportedly the youngster could be set to be offered a contract of around £130,000 per week to move to the Premier League club.

Depay is rated as one of the hottest young players in world football and is wanted by a number of European football’s biggest clubs.

Big spending French giants PSG and Premier League Liverpool are both believed to be chasing the signature of the 21-year-old.

Depay has been in fantastic form this season, having scored 23 goals in 33 appearances in all competitions, including 20 in the Eredivisie from his left-wing position.

The youngster is reported to be Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal’s top target this summer. The Red Devils could have an advantage in the race for the winger because of the presence of Van Gaal at Old Trafford.

With United looking good to seal a place in the Champions League for next season, Van Gaal could be a busy man this summer strengthening his squad.

Southampton full-back Nathaniel Clyne is also a summer transfer target, as Ecuadorian winger Antonio Valencia has been playing in the position in recent games. While there have been doubts over the fitness of Brazilian full-back Rafael.

Depay would be an exciting attacking addition to the United squad should he arrive this summer. It seems clear that United’s veteran Dutch boss is preparing to mount a serious charge for the Premier League title next season.

Will Memphis Depay sign for Manchester United this summer?
