Real Madrid centre-back Sergio Ramos has reportedly asked to leave the Spanish giants

According to the Guardian, Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos wants to leave the Spanish capital this summer.

The Spanish international has recently been heavily linked with a big money move to Premier League Manchester United.

It is being reported that Ramos held a meeting with the Real Madrid hierarchy on Wednesday morning to ask the club to listen to any offers put in for him.

The 29-year-old has been at Real for the last decade and has a release clause in his contract of around £128million.

The Spanish giants claim they have yet to receive a bid for the controversial defender. Ramos has two years left on his current deal at the Bernabeu, but it is looks unlikely that he will enter talks over a new deal.

One possible solution that has been mooted is a swap-deal involving United’s Spanish ‘keeper David de Gea, who has been linked with a move to Real Madrid since last January.

The ‘keeper has just a year left on his contract at Old Trafford and is expected to leave United this summer.

A swap deal would seem like an ideal scenario, but any swap deal is unlikely to be an easy one, with both clubs seemingly reluctant to sell their players.

Sergio Ramos at 29-years-old would add a wealth of experience to the United defence, but the loss of De Gea would also be a big blow to Louis van Gaal’s team. Signing the experienced Spaniard would definitely cushion the blow of losing De Gea though.

Will Manchester United sign Sergio Ramos this summer?
