Liverpool forward Raheem Sterling is reportedly set to snub a contract extension with the Reds

Liverpool starlet Raheem Sterling is set to snub a contract renewal this summer, which will throw his future with the Merseysider’s into doubt.

The youngster is believed to have been angered by the way the club have approached contract negotiations and he believes that he is being bullied into signing a renewal with the Reds.

Sterling is also reported to be angry that the details of any prospective new contract have been leaked to the press.

Despite the speculation over Raheem Sterling’s future, Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that he will not sell the youngster this summer.

A meeting between Sterling’s representatives and Liverpool chief executive Ian Ayres is scheduled for Friday. The meeting could decide the youngster’s future with the club.

If Sterling rejects the offer of a new contract and puts in a transfer request then Liverpool will be left with a player who is unhappy at the club, but who has just two years of his contract on Merseyside.

Sterling has been linked with summer moves to a number of clubs. Manchester City and Arsenal have been the clubs mostly heavily linked with a move for the England international this summer.

The 20-year-old is highly-rated and would demand a big fee if Liverpool did chose to sell this summer, with a fee of around £40million being mooted by some media outlets.

Sterling has endured a difficult campaign and been caught-up in some controversy off the pitch, but is still seen as one of the brightest young talents in European football.

Will Raheem Sterling leave Liverpool this summer?
