Swansea have completed the signing of exciting Ghana international winger Andre Ayew from Marseille.

The 25-year-old has joined the Swans as a free agent and has signed a four-year contract at the Liberty Stadium.

Coup

The signing of Ayew is a coup for the Welsh side, as there were believed to be a queue of clubs looking to sign the Ghanaian star.

A number of Premier League clubs were linked with signing Ayew, but it was the Swans that have managed to get the versatile star to put pen to paper.

Highly-rated

Ayew is highly-rated and the son of African football legend Abedi ‘Pele’ Ayew. He has played at two World Cup’s with Ghana and also at four Africa Cup of Nations. On a personal level Ayew has won BBC African Player of the Year and also Ghana Player of the Year.

Ayew impressed immensely in both his World Cup finals appearances and scored twice last time out in 2014 as Ghana failed to make it out of the group. Last season Ayew scored ten times in his 29 appearances as Marseille finished fourth in Ligue One.

Exciting

Ayew is regarded as a very skilful, technically gifted player and should be an exciting addition to the Swansea squad.

His arrival in Wales will come as a surprise to many, because he probably has the ability to play for a club in the Europa or even Champions League.

However Swansea are very much a club on the up and the signing of the Ghana star proves that. He is sure to have fans on the edge of their seats at the Liberty next season.

Could Andre Ayew prove to be the bargain of the summer?
